      <image:caption>Felicia comes from an athletic background with a keen interest in the physical functioning of the body. She is trained in Modo and Restorative yoga. Her passion is her family, the outdoors and of course yoga. Once nick-named the “gentle commander”, Felicia is an encouraging and compassionate teacher. She believes that the practice of yoga is within everyone. For some it is more easily accessible and others must dig deeper to find it. Felicia was relatively new to yoga when she discovered the Uptown studio. It was within the “warm” Modo community that she realized the true healing power of yoga. Her focus was redirected from the physical realm to the amazing effects of the mind/body connection and beyond. She is most grateful for the unexpected growth and limitless strength she has experienced as a student and as a teacher. Each student comes to class for different reasons. Felicia endeavours to be sensitive to individual needs and to gently guide students to a place that feels right for them. She became a certified teacher in 2017 under the tutelage of Michael Siddall in Toronto. Since then, she has continued to take trainings, as well as seeking out new paths for self-study and dedicated practice. After many years travelling and living abroad, Cara returned to her hometown of Toronto in 2014. The adjustment to such a big move was lessened by her commitment to her practice and the maintenance of that grounding centring presence in her life.       <image:caption>I began ballet training at the age of 4. I trained daily and performed regularly. I later went on to complete a BFA in Contemporary Dance at Concordia University. I’ve worked professionally as a dancer and choreographer and completed my last tour after the birth of my daughter in 2008. At the age of 12 I began practicing yoga. I knew instinctively and immediately that this would be a lifelong practice that would keep me healthy and mobile. I continued teaching yoga around the world and have also taught Yoga Teacher training as well as Prenatal Yoga teacher training. I am a certified and experienced Doula. I am committed to supporting and being an advocate for women’s health and empowerment. I began my career as a body worker in British Columbia training initially in Traditional Thai Massage and Eastern Therapies. I worked for over a decade at Hollyhock Retreat Centre and at An Sanctoir in Ireland teaching yoga and offering body work. As a young gymnast she learned that the body can be injured in various ways and that you must take care of it in order for it to function optimally. This fascination with the physical body lead her too seek out as much knowledge has she could from her academic studies. Hayley started practicing yoga while attending Queen’s university and it clarified for her that health is multi-dimensional; she loved that she felt refreshed and free from the inside out after a yoga practice. Yoga turned out to be a huge transforming and informative force in her life. It was a key element in guiding her into the chiropractic profession, where today she is in her clinic year at CMCC. Yoga has taught Hayley that you always have more freedom than you think, that your intention is sometimes more important than your action, and that you should work at planting positive seeds of thought with everything you do.</image:caption>

She takes inspiration from her ballet coaches Martin Vallee &amp; Svea Eklof Grey, &amp; by finding multiple ways of teaching a singular element so that every body has an opportunity to understand, digest &amp; apply cues. That means providing many variations for every single posture. She considers sequencing as one might choreography, with intricate &amp; accessible transitions that force you to get present with what’s happening right now without you feeling left behind or unable to keep up with the class. Jenny began practicing yoga in 2007 while recovering from knee surgery &amp; began teaching in 2015. Her approach is gentle, supportive and encouraging. She has been a registered massage therapist for 18 years. Her passion is in health and wellness and specializes in prenatal, postnatal and rehabilitation yoga, movements and massage therapy. Currently she teaches Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga as well as private sessions. Marla’s wish, after 20 years of practice, is to extend the experience to others that was afforded to her; honing strength, stillness, agility, and empowerment on the mat, resulting in complete presence in the moment. Marla completed her 300hr teacher training under the guidance of JP Tamblyn-Sabo. Through the inspiration of JP and her teachers; YuMee Chung, Nicky Poole, Marla Meenakshi Joy (to name a few) she commits to teaching intelligently and showing students how to be intuitive with their own bodies. I found a peace and ease in the beauty of this moving mediation which transformed my life and led to a path of my first teachers training in early 2016. And I haven’t slowed down since: almost a 900 hrs and counting - Flow, Pilates Mat training, and more recently and on going Vinyasa Trainings with focus on sequencing, and teaching to beginners, and much more to come. My intention is for students to be strong in their bodies and soft in their hearts, to experience how Yoga can transform their lives, and have a little fun along the way. With a B.A. in Sociology and a diploma in Early Childhood Education, Sarah has always been drawn towards teaching  and connecting with others. Sarah began her career as a Nursery and JK/SK teacher and in 2010 she completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training  at Yoga Space in Toronto. Over the years Sarah has continued her Yoga education by completing a Pre + Post Natal certification at Esther Myers Yoga Studio and a Kids Yoga certification with Bee Birch Yoga Therapy. Sarah has a dynamic approach to teaching Yoga as she wants her students to feel comfortable and confident on their mats. Her classes are often met with laughter and fun.    Sarah’s mantra is “Keep Calm And Yoga On,” and this mentality positively impacts her own experience whether she is teaching and/or taking Yoga classes, and certainly helpful while she maneuvers life at home with her three young children.</image:caption>

Shane is a former social worker with homeless youth in Guelph and New York City who combines his diverse life experience with teaching yoga. Yoga has provided me with the space to heal and love myself, and I wanted to share this powerful practice with others. I began my teaching journey in 2014. I completed the Modo Level 1, Modo flow, Yin, and Prana Vinyasa training with Shiva Rea. My classes are usually inspired by my Ashtanga and Prana Vinyasa practices.
