Maria Markovac
Teacher
Maria first discovered yoga as a runner in her teens, using it to build strength, mobility, and resilience. Years later, after sustaining a concussion during the pandemic, her practice took on a deeper meaning. Yoga became a daily ritual. One that helped her reconnect with herself, slow down, and cultivate mindfulness both on and off the mat.
Inspired by the transformative impact of the practice, Maria completed her 250-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2023 and went on to earn a Certificate in Mindfulness in Modern Society from McMaster University. She is passionate about creating classes that encourage students to move with intention, challenge themselves, and leave feeling stronger, calmer, and more connected.
When she's not teaching or practicing yoga, you'll likely find Maria hiking, cycling, running, walking her dog Luigi, traveling, or photographing wildflowers. A lover of nature in every form, she's also a proud plant parent to more than 20 houseplants and believes that time outdoors is one of life's greatest teachers.
